Hi! This is Idris! Thank you to Alex from Yale (a wonderful CS major who graces the world with his presence) for helping me create this blog. Tonight, I went to a New Haven Peace Council Event and I was filled with energy about how to mobilize this group, Siblings Against the War. In addition to rallying siblings and family members, I want all of you (my friends) to join this group and invite 40 other members!! This is so important and I LOVE YOU GUYS! We need to work together to stop this war. I will give you a few facts that I learned tonight:
-The soldiers who have died in the war come back to the Navy base in Dover, Delaware. They come back in the dead of night when no one can see their bodies. This leads the American people to believe that this is a play-war without real consequences.
-The wounded soldiers are sent to Germany to be healed in hospitals in Germany--why can't we heal our soldiers in America?
-700,000 Iraqi civilians have died.
-American "smart missiles" (missles that target homes or Al Quaeda bases) miss targets often and kill civilians.
Can you believe this?
